The other day Haley asked me if God gave me 18 kids would I want them? I replied that I would take as many blessings as God wanted to give me!
Of course she loved that answer. Our children are always watching our answers to their questions. If I would have said something like, “Oh, Lord, please don’t give me 18 children!” or “I’d freak out!”, Haley would have formed an opinion in her head that having 18 children was a bad thing.
On the contrary, in our house each and every life the Lord blesses us with is a welcomed answer to prayer.

Many times in Genesis God commands us to “be fruitful and multiply”. This I do gladly! But I was not always of this thinking. As a matter of fact, after Sterling’s birth I confidently bragged that our family was done. We had reached that happy place…and I was not even remotely interested in revisiting the birthing process after what I had been through.
However, God will always make His Way known. He spoke loudly to Michael and I separately for many weeks. Finally, when the voice became so frequent and quite loud I hesitantly broached the subject with Michael. I remember leaning over to him in bed and saying that God had revealed to me that our family was not done. He smiled and said that God had revealed the same to him.
Praise the Lord for a husband so open to God’s plans!
“Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD,The fruit of the womb is a reward.” Psalm 127:3
I can’t wait (yes, the Father is working on growing me in patience) to receive further blessings from the Lord…if that is His Will. You see, just because you leave the size of your family in the hands of God does not mean you will have 18 or 10 or even 5 children. That is for God to determine.
“Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be ashamed, But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.” Psalm 127:5
Michael and I will do the work of the Lord with as many arrows as He sees fit for us to raise. Besides, when you make children as cute as ours, why would you want to quit?!

The blog looks great!
What a joy to be open to the LORD’s leading on your family size. That’s a blessing to be likeminded in that area.

I wish the best for your family, you DO make pretty babies. S has the sweetest smile! My family and I are Catholic, and although in this day and age even Catholics don’t practice what they preach, we have decided to practice NFP and let the Lord bless us as he sees fit…we have a cousin who had 7 when her husband died suddenly, she met someone ( a widow) who had 8 of his own (I think) and they married and have since had two together… and she is very happy! We saw them this weekend in Harper, near you…the rain was great this weekend…
